Migration in Progress

The old dutchie.org site was very poorly maintained. As 3DN has been experimenting with WordPress to find out if it’s possible to host multiple domains on one WordPress install and has now developed a simple procedure to do so, we have migrated dutchie.org to WordPress.

The reason for this is that WordPress offers a fantastic amount of layouts and functionality. Unfortunately this does mean that a lot of the older dutchie.org articles will be unavailable for a short period of time.

Multiple Languages

The dutchie.org site had both English and Dutch throughout the site without a good common approach. Since we are now using WordPress on dutchie.org we can soon provide both English and Dutch articles and let WordPress decide which article to show you depending on your browser’s preferences. Unfortunately this does not cooperate very well yet with the current ‘Arras’ WordPress theme. We are working on this as we speak.

Migratie in Uitvoering

De oude dutchie.org website is al een tijd lang slecht onderhouden en is niet bepaald een visite kaartje. Vandaar dat 3DN de site gaat converteren naar een WordPress site! Nadat 3DN onderzoek heeft gedaan naar de mogelijkheid om meerdere domeinen op 1 WordPress instance te laten draaien en hiervoor een duidelijke en snelle procedure heeft ontwikkeld zullen meer sites spoedig volgen.

Reeds Gemigreerd: TW3 Homepage

Reden hiervoor is dat WordPress een zeer grote variëteit biedt aan themes en plugins die het zeer eenvoudig maken om basis functionaliteiten snel in te zetten. Dit betekent echter wel dat een groot aantal webpagina’s die al jarenlang bestaan en druk bezocht worden tijdelijk niet meer beschikbaar zijn. 3DN werkt zo hard mogelijk om dit probleem zo spoedig mogelijk te verhelpen.

Meerdere Talen

Op dit moment werken we er hard aan om artikelen op dutchie.org in twee talen beschikbaar te stellen. Van dit eerste artikel ‘Dutchie naar WordPress’ zijn er daarom twee artikelen aanwezig. De taalinstelling klopt enigszins maar werkt nog niet helemaal optimaal samen met het zgn. WordPress theme ‘Arras’. Ook hier word hard aan gewerkt!
